Neck Lift To Tighten Skin & Improve Neck Banding

Neck Lift

Neck Lift

A neck lift, or platysmaplasty, can tighten sagging neck skin and reduce the appearance of neck bands for a more youthful, contoured facial profile. Aging, gravity, and overexposure to the sun can result in a loss of firmness and skin structure over time. As a result, skin may begin to droop and form neck lines. Small pockets of excess fat may begin to form around the neck, as well, leading to the appearance of a double chin. Neck lift surgery is designed to reposition and remove excess neck skin and tighten neck muscles, while neck liposuction can be combined to reduce unwanted fat in the submental area. Your neck lift surgeon can accentuate the contours of your chin and jawline to achieve a more pronounced neck.

Your Neck Lift Procedure

Depending on the specifics of your neck lift surgery, your procedure may be performed at either an outpatient surgical facility or a local hospital. Your platysmaplasty surgeon will make small incisions around the neck to access the underlying skin layers. Lax skin will be redraped and lifted to improve sagging and any excess skin can be surgically removed, if necessary. The neck muscles will also be tightened during your procedure. Submental liposuction may be combined with your neck lift to eliminate small deposits of excess fat cells. During your neck lipo procedure, a small cannula will be introduced under the skin to break up and extract unwanted fat cells.

Platysmaplasty surgery may be combined with other forms of facial rejuvenation, such as facelift surgery, rhinoplasty, or chin augmentation, for substantial improvements to your entire facial profile.

What To Expect After Undergoing Neck Lift Surgery

Neck lift patients can expect swelling and bruising following surgery, lasting approximately 1-2 weeks. Many patients return to work and daily activities within 1-2 weeks. Your neck lift surgeon will further explain your neck lift recovery timetables during your consultation.

Platysmaplasty surgery addresses the underlying causes of neck laxity by tightening sagging skin and neck bands for a firmer appearance. Neck lift patients should begin to see results in the weeks following surgery. Neck lift results are long-lasting, natural-looking, and complimentary to your facial profile.
