Hair Restoration To Treat Hair Loss & Thinning Hair

Hair Restoration

Hair Restoration

Hair restoration surgery can restore a fuller, thicker head of hair. While hair loss is more common in men, it can affect women and cause the same emotional implications. Hair loss and thinning may make you feel uncomfortable, self-conscious, and dissatisfied with your overall appearance. If you are suffering from balding or thinning hair, you may benefit from hair restoration. During hair replacement, healthy hair follicles (usually taken from the back or sides of your head) are transferred to thinning areas of the scalp. Thanks to scientific advancements in hair restoration in previous years, hair transplants are now performed with innovative, minimally invasive technology to provide the most natural-looking, long-lasting results with the least invasive techniques possible. With these advancements in hair replacement surgery, our hair surgeons can relocate smaller groups of hair follicles to recreate your natural hairline and growth cycle.

Your Hair Replacement Procedure

Hair restoration can be performed in-office, at an outpatient surgical facility, or a local hospital; this is dependent on the specifics of your procedure. During your hair transplant, a local anesthetic will be administered to minimize any pain or discomfort. The donor area of the scalp where your hair follicles will be collected is shaved and thoroughly cleansed before the hair transplant begins. Your hair surgeon will then carefully remove healthy hair follicles from the donor site to later be transplanted into the areas where you are experiencing hair loss. These hair follicles are carefully preserved to ensure a high survival rate. Your hair surgeon will then transplant these follicles into the desired area(s) of your scalp. Hair follicles are distributed evenly to assure the most natural-looking, symmetrical results.

What To Expect From Your Hair Restoration Procedure

Hair replacement patients are generally advised not to shower for at least two days to allow for optimal healing. After two days, you will be permitted to shower in warm water and lightly cleanse the area with a mild shampoo. You can generally return to work within 1-2 weeks of your hair transplant procedure.

Hair restoration can achieve long-lasting enhancements to your hairline. In 2-4 months following your hair transplant, your hair follicles should begin to grow at the same rate of your normal hair growth cycle. Specific guidelines and timeframes can be discussed in more detail with your hair surgeon during your initial consultation. In some cases, you may require multiple hair transplant treatments to successfully achieve the most natural-looking, optimal results.
