Facial Implants - Add Volume To The Cheeks & Enhance Chin Definition

Facial Implants

Facial Implants

Facial implants can add natural-looking volume to your facial features, including the chin, cheeks, and jawline. One of the most prominent effects of aging is the loss of definition around the mid-to-lower face. As a result, you may experience a receding chin, sunken cheeks, or rounded jaw. Your genetics also have an effect on your facial profile and can lead to a lack of natural volume around these areas. Chin implants, cheek implants, and jaw implants can each be placed to balance your facial profile. Patients can add definition to a rounded chin, volumize the cheeks, and contour the jawline using facial implants. Different implant shapes and sizes are available to best fit in with your facial shape and provide natural-looking results.

Your Facial Implants Procedure

Facial implants can be placed at an outpatient surgical facility, as well as a local hospital. The extent of your facial implant procedure will depend on the type of implant being placed.

Chin Implants: During your chin implant surgery, a small incision will be made to insert your implant. Your chin surgeon will make a tiny pocket directly above the jawbone to fit your implant. The chin implant will then be placed into this pocket. Click here to learn more about chin implants.

Cheek Implants: When undergoing cheek implant surgery, a tiny incision is made and a small pocket is created. Your cheek implant is placed in this pocket and rests over the cheekbone.

Jaw Implants: When placing a jaw implant, your plastic surgeon will make a small incision near the jaw and create a tiny pocket. Your jaw implant is then inserted in this pocket and positioned at the lower jaw.

Facial implants may be used along with other facial surgery techniques, including facelift surgery, rhinoplasty, and blepharoplasty, to provide comprehensive improvements to your profile.

What To Expect After Undergoing Facial Implants

Moderate bruising and swelling are common after facial implant surgery and may last for 1-2 weeks. Recovery is minimal and patients can usually return to work and day-to-day activities within 1 week of undergoing chin, cheek, or jaw implant surgery. Your facial implant surgeon can further elaborate on healing time and the extent of your recovery during your consultation.

Chin implants, cheek implants, and jaw implants are each designed to provide long-lasting volume and definition to your mid-to-lower face. Unlike cosmetic injectables, which temporarily volumize these areas, facial implants can achieve natural-looking results lasting years. Patients can begin to see results in the weeks following facial implant surgery.
